Court strikes down prostitution laws
The Supreme Court of Canada unanimously struck down three prostitution laws (bawdy house, living on avails, and public communication provisions) in a landmark decision on December 20, 2013, ruling they violate sex workers' safety and Charter rights, and suspended the declaration for one year.
