High School Girl Forced into Prostitution by Mother with Cancer, Judge Exempts Her from Support Obligation
A woman from Hsinchu, Taiwan, known as Xiao An, was granted exemption from supporting her mother by the Hsinchu District Court. The court found that her mother had abused her as a child and, after being diagnosed with cancer, forced her into prostitution at age 16 to pay for medical bills and debts.
