Pennsylvania ends felony charges for HIV-positive sex work
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed Senate Bill 45 into law on July 20, 2026, which eliminates the third-degree felony charge for individuals who engage in prostitution while knowing they are HIV positive. Previously, such individuals could face up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
