A Portuguese social intervention team called 'Ergue-te', run by the Fundação Madre Sacramento, helps women leave street prostitution in Coimbra. Since December 2009, the team has contacted 1,500 women, 500 of whom opened cases, and 15 have changed their life trajectories, though two later relapsed.
